Harrison's Lifetime High Potency Coarse meets the nutritional requirements for birds with special nutritional needs which include parrots such as Pionus, Amazons, Cockatoos, Macaws and other medium to large parrots.

Harrison's High Potency Coarse is recommended as follows:

  • Special needs: For birds that are molting, overweight, underweight, particularly active, housed in a cold climate, recovering from an illness or affected by liver or kidney disease.
  • Weaning Birds: Feed High Potency Formula for 6-9 months.
  • Breeding Birds: Birds can be fed High Potency Formula 1-2 months prior to the breeding period and until chicks are weaned or for up to six months before resuming Adult Lifetime Formula. 

Harrison's High Potency formulas are recommended especially for African Greys, Green-Wing & Hyacinth Macaws, Queen of Bavaria Conures and Palm Cockatoos

Harrison's organic ingredients sometimes result in slightly different appearances or textures of the final nugget.  even though the production processes are the same, variations in growing temperatures, rainfall, and other natural phenomena produce outcomes that sometimes appear different but are the same food.  A slightly drier formula may end up with some crumbles at the bottom of the bag.  These are still nutrient dense and can be moistened with fruit juice for feeding or used as flour to make into bird bread.  Harrison's does not incorporate artificial processing, or use any bleached for dyed flours, meals, or byproducts to cover up the natural characteristics of the grains.
